Taylor made safety glazing

Safety glass for Cabs, agricultural and forestry machinery

Agricultural, mining and forestry machines operate in extreme environments: rugged terrain, isolated worksites, flying debris, heavy implements and dense vegetation. In such conditions, operator cab protection and equipment durability are absolutely essential.

Up to 250 times more impact-resistant and 2 times lighter than traditional glass, polycarbonate cab glazing is becoming the material of choice for heavy machinery safety glass. By combining impact resistance, lightweight glazing, and optical quality, polycarbonate ensures maximum operator safety without sacrificing visibility.

Cleargard®  supports OEMs, operators and contractors in these industries with advanced polycarbonate safety glazing solutions. Engineered for forestry equipment, agricultural machinery and mining cabs, they withstand the harshest environments while providing lasting protection, clarity and reliability.

Polycarbonate: robustness and safety on the ground

In forestry, construction and heavy equipment, machines are exposed to flying debris, falling branches, and extreme working conditions. Cleargard® polycarbonate cab glazing provides unmatched robustness and operator safety. Highly resistant to impacts from stones, tools or heavy implements (chains, sledgehammers, metal claws, etc.), this impact resistant safety glass is virtually unbreakable, ensuring clear operator visibility is maintained even after an impact.

For enhanced visibility and comfort, we offer 180° curved cab glazing that delivers a wide and safe view of the sky, eliminating the need for obstructive metal grilles. Driver cabins with Cleargard® polycarbonate glazing are FOPS level 1 & 2 certified and saw chain test approved, meeting the highest international safety standards for forestry and heavy machinery glazing.

To further increase durability and reliability, our solutions integrate advanced coatings: anti-scratch hard coat, anti-fog treatment, UV protection and graffiti resistance. This combination guarantees long-lasting performance, operator protection and optical clarity in the most demanding environments.

For what applications?

Cleargard® can be integrated into a wide range of machines and equipment

Forestry equipment: Harvesters, forwarders, tractors, shredders, grapples, etc.

In the forestry sector, equipment must withstand impacts, knocks, temperature fluctuations and UV exposure, without compromising the safety of operators and machines. For this demanding environment, polycarbonate glazing and safety windows are an essential solution.

For forestry machinery, Cleargard®  equips the cabs of all types of vehicles with a made-to-measure, impact-resistant polycarbonate window glazing solution. Our teams can help you create customized cab windows adapted to your needs. There are several advantages to using polycarbonate safety glazing in the forestry sector. We can create curved windscreens and cabin windows with a 180° view without metal grilles, ensuring operator visibility and safety.

250 times more resistant than traditional glass of the same thickness, and 2 times lighter, polycarbonate glazing for forestry windows and cabins allows great freedom of design and ensures long product durability.

Unbreakable, polycarbonate cab glazing offers excellent optical quality. To improve the durability of the material, coatings are applied: anti-scratch hard coat, anti-fog treatment, graffiti resistant and UV protection. These coatings prevent the glazing from yellowing, surface damage, scratches and visual distortion.

Because safety and visibility are the most important, all our Cleargard®  cabin windows are certified to meet international safety standards:

  • Saw chain test approved
  • FOPS level 1 & 2 certified

Full glazing solutions by Cleargard®

We are aware that the forestry and agricultural sectors are demanding environments, where safety is fundamental. For this reason, our glazing undergoes various safety tests:

  • FOPS Test level 1, suitable for moderate-risk environments, involving resistance to a falling object weighing 45 kg at a height of 3.10m.
  • FOPS Test level 2, intended for high-risk environments, tests are carried out with a falling object of 227 kg at a height of 5.22 m.
  • Saw chain test, which assesses the resistance of a protective cab against the risks associated with the use of chainsaws. This guarantees effective protection for the operator against violent projections from the chain or links.

To meet the different requirements of the construction, forestry and agricultural sectors, we offer a range of coatings to improve the longevity of our safety glazing. Anti-scratch, anti-abrasion, anti-UV, anti-fog, etc., we adapt to your needs.
